Day 2 of Haus of Super Shimmer featuring Sugarpill, Jessica Louise, Audrey Kitching, Chubby Bunny and JapanLA was pure amazingness! The theme of the day was “Shiny Outfit Party,” and boy do my friends not disappoint. It was also our longest work day (10 hours!) so a lot of people packed outfit changes for nighttime. If you actually look through all the photos in this post chronologically, you’ll see them getting shinier and shinier as day turns into night. Fun!

Kevin and I drove in pretty late on Thursday. We got a room at a motel in the middle of nowhere that was closest to the Burbank Airport where we’d have to pick up Tess the next morning. As soon as we went to bed and Kevin fell asleep, the mini fridge started making awful groaning sounds! And not the regular hum that you’d expect from a fridge. It sounded like it was in pain, and I swear I could make out the voices of 100 dead souls trapped inside crying for help! I kept nudging Kevin and saying “There it is again! Did you hear it?!” but of course it would stop every time Kevin woke up.

After about an hour, the evil fridge finally calmed down and I managed to drift off to sleep. But then!! The people upstairs decided to start humping very loudly. Mattress squeaking, headboard banging against the wall, lots of giggling. After they were done, I heard what sounded like chains being dragged on the floor for about 20 minutes. Wow uhh…

We checked outta there sooo fast the next morning and got a much cuter room at the Beverly Laurel in Hollywood. No haunted fridge, yay! Although… there WAS a framed portrait of Jada Pinkett Smith looking totally mad hanging over the toilet, but that I can handle.

Each day of Haus of Super Shimmer had a different dress-up theme. Friday was Zoolander Walk-Off, Saturday was the Shiny Outfit Contest, and Sunday was Sugarpill Makeovers. I was such a stress-case on Friday! I showed up late due to an unfortunate incident involving an OCC Lip Tar that exploded on my face, made the mess worse by trying to fix it with an unsharpened lipliner, then finally gave up and went to the party looking like Ronald McDonald. I don’t want to talk about it!!
