Hi! My name is Amy. I began designing clothes in 2002 under the name Shrinkle while pursuing a degree in journalism at Cal State Hayward. After graduation, I ditched the idea of ever becoming a newspaper reporter when I realized I couldn’t pry herself from my sewing machine long enough to apply for a “real” job. My designs are inspired by vintage dance costumes and lingerie, Japanese street fashion, and toddler beauty pageants. In addition to being a designer, I’m also the founder of Sugarpill, my colorful makeup line for party girls.
I live in Rockridge, Oakland and have four very handsome cats and a backyard full of possums and raccoons. In addition to sewing, I love flea markets, playing dress-up, grabbing peoples’ butts in bars and blaming it on my friends, bird watching, and riding my bike. I don’t eat meat, but I wouldn’t call myself a vegetarian either because I sometimes cheat by eating seafood.
XOXO
Amy
