Scary eBay slot machines!

As much as I love to complain about eBay, I not-so-secretly enjoy being photographed with anything eBay-related that I stumble across. Last month, we visited Kevin’s dad in Reno for Fathers Day. When I spotted this fugly slot machine at the Atlantis, I just couldn’t resist! I can’t believe this is the ONLY picture we took of our entire trip. We’re awesome and cool people.

Some people collect stamps, others collect dolls. Me? I think I’m going to collect pictures of myself posing in front of eBay stuff. I don’t have too many yet, but here’s what I do have so far:

Feb ‘06: Yana and I barely dodged security guards at eBay headquarters in San Jose for this photo op! Sooo worth it.

June ‘05: Ew. SUPER old one of me outside the eBay convention that I wasn’t invited to!

Feb ‘04: Ebay had a booth at a fashion convention in Vegas and was handing out these brochures on the joys of being an eBay seller. Here I’m pretending to learn stuff, while really laughing on the inside.

I want to add to my collection. Know of any ridiculous eBay spots in your area? Fill me in because I want my picture in front of it! No, I probably won’t travel far JUST for an eBay photo op. But if I happen to be passing thru town, I’d like to know about any pitstops I should make.

Anyway, gotta go. Jen’s on her way over for our weekly vegan club sandwich eating marathon. My kinda day!

XOXO
Amy

I totally have the same bike with the same exact basket! Awesome. :)

    • shrinkle says:

Awesome! My friend has one too, and we also used to both have blue hair. We’d get lots of funny looks when we rode together! Come join our Helly Kitty bike gang!

  • Lil Lisa says:

Ahaha, I saw those and played on em, they suck!

  • Emily B. says:

ah that one of you and yana makes me laugh everytime! you guys are too funny :)

  • Kimberly Nguyen says:

    I love the pix! :)

I don’t think they have ebay anything in FL. If they do, I’d be surprised. Then again, I hear about new things like the Energizer factory and Minute Maid factory. Ooooh! And if I’m heading to Orlando, I pass by the Mitsubishi building!

But I know where I want to get pictures at….the Google headquarters. Screw ebay! Hunt down Google headquarters!

    • shrinkle says:

Oooh! Did you know that Google is actually here too? My friend works there. I’ve never visited but it’s supposed to be pretty amazing. Everyone is always raving about their fantastic cafeteria, haha. I should make her take me on a tour to see what all the hype is about!

      • Rothrandom says:

Yeah…I know for sure that Cali is bigger and better than Fl. And I totally knew that one of the Google headquarters is located there thanks to the Travel Channel and ZOMG! they made it sound outrageously awesome…including the cafeteria and snacks and the rest of the free stuff and services. You know, like free laundry, free doctor and nurses services, and I can’t remember more. For my sake and jealousy, ask for a tour from your friend!!!

I’ve always loved that photo of you and Yana! You two look adorable and fun! And I want to steal that green dress you are wearing!!

    • shrinkle says:

I sold that dress, then immediately regretted it after I shipped it off, haha.

      • Mulysa says:

Ooh, I hate sellers remorse! I love dolly dresses but it’s sooo freakin’ hard to find them in my size. (I’m a med/large gal!) I’m going to have to break down and pay someone to make them for me.

I’ve never seen anything from ebay like that in Spain. The first pic looks fun!
Oh the pics are also a lil history of your hair styles! :D

    • shrinkle says:

      Hey girl! I don’t know if it’s a glitch with Wordpress, but I just found your blog and it won’t let me comment on any entries. I’m not sure if I’m just being computer illiterate or if you blocked comments! :-}

      • Sakura says:

mmm thats weird, so far I didnt have any problems with comments. But I have a doubt, cause I have wordpress, livejournal and blogspot blogs, I’ve decided to use blogspot cause its custom options work better for me. So the question is :D where you trying to comment on my wordpress or in my blogspot and you use wordpress? Cause it may be this: blogspot blogs always require to log before comment, you can use your OpenID account too, wordpress is one of them. I remember when I used the wordpress blog and i wanted to comment on a blogspot I needed to have my wordpress website oppened and logged in, and then when you write a comment you just have to write your wordpress website on the window comment. Its a bit shit that part lol, it took me a while to figure out why I coulndt comment.

        • Sakura says:

          I reply to myself lol,
oki I was looking at my wordpress options and my blogspot options. I’ve found that in blospot i have activated the option for ppl registered including OpenID. So I’ll change it cause I see if giving some problems.

they have those ebay slot machines at the montbleu in tahoe although i have no idea how it ties in with gambling. haha also i need that HK bike in my life!

unrelated but i think i’ve seen you at foster’s freeze near japantown before (i live down the street). if not, then maybe you have a twin. :D

    • shrinkle says:

How funny! I used to live in Japantown, on 8th and Empire. My friend, who everyone says looks just like me, lives on 4th and Jackson. We used to ride bikes to Foster Freeze ALL the time! I haven’t been there in a long time, but if this was a long time ago then it could have definitely been me. If this was recently, it was probably my friend Jessica! Mmm ice cream!
