Tokyo Creators Market/Bazaar Bizarre Fair at New People Artist Village in Japantown

Hi! I’m taking a break from working on the Sugarpill site to post pictures from the New People Artist Fair in Japantown last weekend. Twinkie and I got booths next to each other — it was so romantic! The event took place on Friday night and all day Saturday.

Embarrassing story: This was my first craft fair ever, and I was really nervous. While I was loading the makeup and clothing rack into my car, I joked about how funny it would be if I forgot to bring the clothes. I bet you know where this story is going, right? Well, just as we crossed over the bridge into San Francisco, I gasped in horror as I realized that I really forgot to bring all the clothes. So that we wouldn’t be late, Kevin dropped me and my sis off at New People to check in, then he drove all the way back home to get my clothes. In the meantime, we spent AT LEAST 45 minutes sitting in an empty booth under a big Shrinkle sign with NO MERCH. Everyone was like “What is this? What are you doing? What’s Shrinkle?” It was tooooooo embarrassing!

Kevin to the rescue, thank god!! My favorite thing about guys is that you can do the STUPIDEST shit and they will fix it without getting mad.

Twinkie and Hairy making pretty faces as usual

Junko Mizuno!

Christina, Brynna, Brynna’s gorgeous friend

Marissa was selling some of her adorable crafts at Twinkie’s table. We keep pestering her to get a store up cuz her stuff is so cute! She made this petticoat to go with Twinkie’s scarf, top and gloves in the Hello Kitty fashion show. Isn’t she good??!

FREE FOOD!!!!

I love Charissa! We said we never wanted to meet because we’re both shy, but we did it anyway. Hooray!

These cute girls came to America to learn English and were taking pictures of evvvverrrrything. They were so fun and giggly, I loved them!!

Me and Sarah again

Isn’t Kevin the sweetest, cuddliest-looking man alive? He looks tired from crossing the bridge twice in rush hour traffic to get my clothes, haha. Nothing beer can’t fix!

Hairy caught on film shoplifting one of my dresses!!!

Stinkie & Stinkle

Oh, and here is our masterpiece film debut. It’s called “I gotch yo’ back!” Or “Twinkie is really good at putting up with me.” (Don’t ask me what I said in this clip cuz I have no idea either. I talk so fast I don’t even understand it myself!)

Afterwards, we all went out for sushi. Hairy, Twinkie, Sarah

Marissa and her man Josh

Me, my underage boyfriend Saru (call me when you turn 18!!), and Kim.

Actual conversation between me and Black Mike:
Black Mike: you are into a 17 year old!
Me: i have a picture of us eating sushi and i’m gonna send it to him
he will be like ‘WOW that amy lady sure is pretty, i should call her after i turn 18″
Black Mike: well. if he refers to you as ‘lady’ its already over

Actual conversation between me, Lumi and Twinkie:
Lumi: 17 ain’t that young. what’s wrong with that???!!!
Me: Oh my god! I’m almost 30. I kind of just want to be his sugarmama and buy him cute stuff if he’ll make out with me every now and then… buy him fancy dinner and presents. Shit man, it’s time to get rich!
Twinkie: Hairy and I calculated that he is young enough to be our child.

Day Two! Woke up early Saturday morning to work the event again. We look so much alike in this picture, it’s kind of creeping me out.

Hey, look at the Stinkie Chan!!

Superstar Tess stopped by. We love this girl! She kept us laughing for hours.

She also has impeccable folding skills, so I put her straight to work!

I think I’ll keep her.

My LJ friend Jessica stopped by with her cute friends and we got to meet for the first time! She had crazy chola nails that I’m gonna run out and copy. Love it!!

K, back to work!

XOXO
Amy
